Each garment is designed with a purpose. From everything to the pocket design to the zippers, we put ourselves in the wearers shoes for maximum functionality. We specifically design for the cultures we live in and passionately care for.

Clothes we wear all day should be comfortable. No matter what. Understanding comfortability is based on understanding fabrics, functionality, and design. Everything we love to think about.
The identity
The name
One identity, built from three ideas.

(Japanese: /sahn-go/) means coral — a living organism that grows quietly, patiently, and beautifully beneath the surface to form thriving reefs that support thousands of species. Inspired by this idea, Sango is more than a clothing brand; it is an ecosystem of individuals committed to finding their truth. It represents the belief that authenticity, purpose, passion, and personal growth are lifelong pursuits, and that by embracing who we are and supporting one another, we create something greater than ourselves. Like coral, the strongest foundations are built over time—with intention, resilience, and community. Love is constant.

represents a creative space where ideas, identity, and expression are explored and brought to life. It reflects our role as a hub for collaboration, storytelling, and working with artists to create meaningful projects. Like a true studio, it is a place of experimentation, refinement, and continuous growth. Together, it symbolizes that self-discovery and creativity are ongoing processes, not finished products.

This icon consists of flowing shapes that represents the natural path of life - constantly moving, evolving, and never perfectly straight. The journey reflects the twists, challenges, and discoveries that shape personal growth and character. True self-discovery comes from embracing the journey, not just the destination. A path to our truth is never straight, but a flow.
Founded in Los Angeles
Kai Matsukuma
Founder & Designer
Born and raised in South Pasadena, California, Kai founded Sango Studios in 2020 with the belief that clothing could become a medium for documenting inspiring friends, preserving stories, and encouraging others to pursue their own truth.
His role moves between designer, storyteller, and community builder—shaping each collection as a conversation between the artist, the garment, and the people who encounter it.
